The BID is requesting approval of a new Special Event, Discover Canandaigua, to be held on Saturday, September 28th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is a family focused collaboration between Rotary and Kiwanis that intends to showcase both local businesses and non-profits.
The generator replacement was previously awarded to Schuler-Haas for $69,000 at the March 7th Council meeting. Upon commencement of the installation of the new generator, a significant discrepancy with the feeder wires was identified. Without fixing this deficiency, there is a serious safety hazard with the new generator not being wired correctly. A change order of $34,715.41 is required to fix the identified issue. Funding is available in other general fund capital accounts but will need to be repurposed.
The Watershed Council purchased a truck for the Watershed Manager and is requesting a fuel purchase agreement with the City which would mirror similar arrangements the City has with FLCC, Habitat for Humanity and the Canandaigua Emergency Squad.
The City Manager will present a proposed application for the 2025 DRI cycle.
“Fire on the Lake,” a new brick-oven pizza restaurant to be located on the corner of Lakeshore Drive and Ellen Polimeni BLVD, has requested that two (2), two (2) hour parking spots on Lakeshore Drive be changed to two (2) five (5) minute parking spots to allow for order pick up/take-out. The Planning Committee discussed this request at their August 6th meeting with the recommendation that the restaurant request the use of private parking spots. The restaurant owners requested an opportunity to discuss with City Council.
The Assessor’s Office will provide a brief presentation on Real Property Tax Law 485. This is a City Council Strategic Plan action item.
