Special Event Application 00:01:58

Gibson Schwartz and Aaron Miller, students at Canandaigua Academy, have requested approval of a Special Event, as part of their International Baccalaureate diploma public service requirement. They would like to hold a pickleball tournament on Sunday, October 13th, at 1:00 PM. Funds would be raised for the MS Foundation. The students are also requesting the $75 application fee as well as the $50 court reservation fee be waived.


BID Vehicle Discussion 00:16:49

The BID is looking to purchase a truck and inquired with the City on availability of any surplus vehicles. A 2014 Ford F150 that is being replaced and would be auctioned off could be sold to the BID at its estimated value of $3,500. Denise Chaapel has inspected the vehicle with City Staff and all are confident it will meet the needs of the BID. City Staff recommends approving the sale of this vehicle to the BID.


Pier Decking Board Replacement- Phase 2 00:20:39

The Capital Budget has included a three (3) phased replacement of the decking boards for the three boathouse piers with composite decking boards to protect the lake (no longer need resealing) and provide longevity. Phase 2 is budgeted at $50,000 in the 2024 Capital Budget. Two bids were received with Knapp & Schlappi Lumber Co. having the lowest price per board at $57.50/board. The estimated total cost of the replacement will be $27,600 (480 boards) and staff recommends proceeding in awarding the bid.

The following agencies will be in attendance to discuss their 2025 budget requests: a. Downtown Canandaigua Business Management Association (BID) request: $99,000 b. Greater Rochester Habitat for Humanity (GRHFH) request: $50,000 c. Ontario County Historical Society request; $13,500 d. Salvation Army Phoenix Program request; $8,000 e. Canandaigua Local Development Corporation (CLDC) request: $40,000 f. Colony Caregivers request; $5,000 g. Ontario County Chamber of Commerce request: $20,000
