Presentation by Larson Design Group
02:01Ethan Bodnaruk, PE, will be in attendance virtually to update the Committee on their preliminary engineering reports for Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) and the Primary Clarifiers at the Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF). Both of these studies are directly related to the 2024/2025 Strategic Plan infrastructure priority areas. The City applied for and was ultimately awarded NYS Engineering Planning Grant funding to complete these studies.
Annual Storm Water Management Program
53:45Peter Virkler, the City’s MS4 Coordinator, will present the City’s Annual Storm Water Management Program (SWMP) for City Council and the public’s information. The City of Canandaigua is a MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System) community, and is therefore required to have a SWMP in order to reduce pollution in stormwater runoff in order to protect our community’s water quality. Our efforts as an MS4 help effectuate the environmental goals outlined in the Comprehensive Plan of continuing ongoing efforts to protect the water quality of Canandaigua Lake.
Canandaigua Sailboard License Agreement Renewal
01:08:11Neon Wave aka Canandaigua Sailboard has requested to renew their license agreement with the City. They have a current agreement with the City to use property at Lakefront Park to stage their kayak and paddleboard rentals. In 2023, the agreement was amended to add the ability to use the small dock area at Lagoon Park for launching. The applicant would pay a $6,000 annual fee, for both locations, with a five (5) year agreement term. This license agreement helps effectuate the Parks and Recreation goal outlined in the Comprehensive Plan of increasing public access and encouraging non-motorized boat usage on Canandaigua Lake.
