WRRF Capital Planning Update.
00:18The City contracted with Larson Design Group to complete a comprehensive, plant-wide capital improvements study including the evaluation of flows and loads, assessment of existing infrastructure, identification of long-term facility needs, development of a prioritized capital improvements plan, and support updates to intermunicipal agreements. This work has been on-going, and a representative Larson Design Group will be in attendance to provide an update along with some grant applications (below) that are planned to be submitted.
Water Infrastructure Improvement (WIIA)/Water Quality Improvement Project (WQIP) Grant Applications.
46:19Larson Design Group is assisting the City with multiple grant applications for wastewater and drinking water projects. As part of the application requirements, and in order to meet grant deadlines, City Council will need to pass various resolutions at the July 20th meeting. There are two distinct projects which require resolutions (b and c below). a. Headworks Resiliency Project: The City has previously applied to the WIIA and WQIP for this project that is under construction which will improve the applications score. The $5.6 million project involves replacing/upgrading aging equipment and facilities at the headworks of the WRRF and increasing the WRRF’s capacity to handle extreme wet weather flows. b. Biological Treatment Design and Primary Clarifier Improvements: LDG is proposing to package the primary clarifier design, primary clarifier construction, and biological improvements design into a WIIA application. c. Lead Service Line Inventory: There is a new state funded program through the WIIA with 100% funding for the lead service line inventory. This grant would take the place of the subsidized financing that we were recently awarded to the City to finish inventorying lead water service lines within the City.
