Ontario County Historical Society.
00:20As part of the 2027 budget process, the City Manager asks outside agencies to provide their requests and present to Council. The Ontario County Historical Society (OCHS) has a long-standing partnership with the City to manage its Frank Hutchens painting collection which was bequeathed to the city many years ago. The 2026 Budget included a small increase from $12,000 to $13,300 for the services OCHS provides. OCHS is requesting $20,000 for 2027. OCHS Director Ulana Fuller will be in attendance to discuss the request.
2025 Audit Review.
18:15The City’s independent audit of the 2025 Financial Statements has been completed. Mike DeBots of Mengal, Metzger, Barr and Co. LLP will be at the meeting to present on the audit report.
Town and City Fire Services Agreement.
39:50The inter-municipal agreement (IMA) with the Town of Canandaigua to provide fire protection services to portions of the Town expires at the end of the year. The City Manager has meet with the Town Supervisor and Town Manager and there is a tentative agreement to renew the IMA for an additional two-years.
Property and Evidence Clerk.
45:48We have two non-sworn positions within our Police Department. One position has effectively operated as a Property/Evidence Tech and the Police Chief and City Manager recommend formally creating this civil service title to reflect the duties of the position. The 2027 Proposed Budget will include a salary adjustment commensurate with the job’s duties.
CLDC By-Laws Changes.
47:25Pro-Housing Recommendations.
51:30The goal of these recommendations is to update the City’s zoning code and expand opportunities for affordable housing, including multi-family housing and other residential development that is beyond the current prevalence of single-family detached homes on quarter acre lots. All of these changes were previously discussed and tentatively approved pending a discussion regarding a potential re-zoning of the Jefferson Park area. Given Council is not moving forward with the re-zoning, this item was added to ensure that the committee was still agreeable to the proposed changes.
